Investment Associate
Overall Purpose of the Job
The Investment Associate at Maia Capital will be responsible for leading critical elements of the investment process for the fund and will work closely with all levels of Maia Capital’s investment professionals throughout every stage of the investment process. The Investment Associate will form part of a core team which will include an Investment Analyst and a Graduate Trainee. The Investment Associate will be involved in all elements of deal making and will work closely in supporting the investment team throughout the transaction cycle, interacting with senior client executives. The Investment Associate will also work closely with all the fund’s stakeholders, including current and potential investors and clients.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
- A proven track record (minimum 5 years’ experience) in a highly analytical role within
Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking or Private Equity is a strong
prerequisite. - Similar experience in a similar role and managing a team of junior resources / analysts.
Similar experience in a Private equity environment would be highly advantageous; - Minimum Honours degree qualification, preferably with a technical and or quantitative
emphasis (finance, engineering, accounting, law). - An MBA, CA(SA) or CFA would be advantageous, but not a prerequisite.

- Ability to manage a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working with tight deadlines and possess the ability to handle multiple
tasks with varying priorities. - Wide knowledge in corporate strategy and private equity/mergers and acquisition.
- Well-rounded commercial and economic awareness and understanding of the
financial markets. - Excellent personal rapport and ability to engender trust and respect.
- Passion for entrepreneurship, company building and Impact investing.
- Willingness to put in extended hours as and when required, particularly during deal
evaluation, negotiations, and deal implementation. - Confident with a practical approach and a professional attitude towards work.
- Ability to deal with individuals at all levels, in relation to confidential matters,
including the Executive Board and Senior Executives at client level.

Our Internship Program Structure
Duration
The internship programme is for 12-18 months.
